As far as the P3 batteries converted to externals go,
I think it's fair to point out that this has been tried by many of us battery mod guys who have tried a hundred combos and I would challenge you to find one post where any of us actually got good flight time from that battery combo, it just didn't pan out for any of us who tried it.
That being said, when the first P3 battery split mod from Horizon was made, Keith was also the only one out of a dozen of us who tried it and bought it, that got any kind of decent flight time!maybe it's something about Florida,
But for a couple dozen of us around the world, those batteries just didn't work either, they weren't even considered decent.
But Paul is a good guy and maybe he's got some tricks up his sleeve!
He's got a good reputatation and representative.

I guess the administrators aren't as concerned about trolls as they used to be[emoji41]

I think you guys all tried the converted batteries on the P3 which would give you issues because it has absolutely no bottom end on it. It just falls out of the sky at 0%. P4 doesn't suffer from that issue it will continue to fly long after the main battery is dead if you have power in the externals. These batteries have voltage left in reserve long after the main is dead. I flew 11 min in landing mode , over 6 min at 0% flying into the wind!! I am sorry they didn't work for you guys , but they made a believer out of me.

It just happens that I now have 2 bricked p3 batteries. They may have just found a new home on one of my P4s!

My gimbal is toast on my P4 Lowell!! I have to use the gimbal clamp in order to keep the camera pointing forward. I am pretty sure you have removed your camera from the gimbal. I was planning on doing it myself. Is it a pretty straight forward process?

I wanted to keep my P4 as close to stock spec as possible to see if I could beat the best of the gimbal mounted P3 records , but now that the camera is a lame duck really got no other options.

I haven't tried a p4 camera without the gimbal. If you want to go for that record you could tape the camera at the angle you want.

Oh really? That's cool thanks Lowell not a bad idea prob lighter then the gimbal clamp for sure!! I want to get as far as possible with only the drone mod anyway

New Phantom 4 world record 63,774 feet and back 12.07 miles. Flight was about 41 min total with the last 2.5 min hovering at the home point. It was very very windy I was able to turn at 34% battery and still make it all the way back home running full throttle!!!

By my count this is further then all the P3 records with unmodified cameras. I have been saying for years that the P4 is a better long range bird then the P3. This is by no means the furthest it can go calm conditions this is a 70k bird.

Special thanks to Paul Shaffer from FPVcustoms.com for moding my drone and providing the converted P3 4480 mah externals.

I see your highest speed on the return leg was 47mph...thats moving alright nothing like a good tailwind eh!
Yeah I had some wind on the return leg for sure!!! I actually had it punched pretty much the whole way this time just to see the difference in flight time versus 70%-80% throttle and it really wasn't a huge difference to be honest. 41 min with some gas left in the tank that ain't bad at all!!!

New World Record!!! 12.2 miles or 64,457 feet and back with the Phantom 4. I absolutely love the new props they are fast as hell!!! Turned at 35% and still made it back easy cruising at 45 mph!!! I think I had quite a bit of battery remaining so I know I can get more then this. Go to the lake and maybe take a shot at 70k!!! Thanks to Paul Shaffer at FPVCustoms.com for setting me up with this wicked drone mod!!! Airdata is right here and I also have a video to edit.
