New World Record!!! 12.2 miles or 64,457 feet and back with the Phantom 4. I absolutely love the new props they are fast as hell!!! Turned at 35% and still made it back easy cruising at 45 mph!!! I think I had quite a bit of battery remaining so I know I can get more then this. Go to the lake and maybe take a shot at 70k!!! Thanks to Paul Shaffer at FPVCustoms.com for setting me up with this wicked drone mod!!! Airdata is right here and I also have a video to edit.

New P4 World Record!!! 13.38 miles 70,685 feet and back with the P4 I knew it could be done and I finally did it!!! Thanks to Paul Shaffer from FPVCUSTOMS.COM for setting me up with this monster mod!!! A lot of people just gave up on the P4. I have been saying for years it has untapped potential I think I have proven that with this flight!!! I don't know what's more exciting the fact that unknown put a new record under his belt or that this thread actually has a post this year[emoji41]

Congrats on the flight,unknown.
Check out my latest P4 flight bro!!! Beat every P3 flight on the board. My P4 still has the stock cam too.

Hi Unknown:
When flying with "DJI PHANTOM 4 BATTERY MOD" external batteries does the Go4 app show you the combined state of the main battery and the 2 extras ?
Or does it just show the state of the main battery ?
If it just shows the state of the main battery then how do you judge when you have to return to home ?
I understand from your posts that the P4P will keep flying on the 2 extras even if the main battery is flat ?
When the main battery goes flat does the P4P try to do a RTH ?

16.327 miles 86,204 ft and back with the P4!!! This flight was over 62 min long!!! I ended up timing out about hundred feet before I got home so my P4 took a nasty tumble. I am happy though that I beat my P3 record with the P4!!! It is awesome!!! Thanks to my sponser Paul Shaffer at FPVcustoms.com for modding my P4 and for the P3 converted externals awesome stuff bro!!! You just get the total mah reading off the main battery it doesn't see the extra batteries. However the battery algorithm will take into account the extra power because the slower draw rate. There is a few things that go thru my mind to judge my turn around % Most importantly is the wind direction if you have it on the way out you need to turn before 50% because you will be traveling slower on the way back. Depending on the wind speed it could be as much as 65% or as low as 52% it just depends on the day really. Once the main is dead you might have a little left in the saddles and it is possible to keep going. Again wind speed and direction plays a factor in that too. Once the battery hits 11% your going into low pow landing mode which is different then RTH the drone tries to force land the drone. You can fight this by holding up on the elevator stick.

30,584ft, P4A, stock battery, stock RC with windsurfer, parameter mod, 31 degrees tilt, full throttle. Battery starting at only 4.28v on the stock DJI charger.

Battery autmatically shuts off when any one cell drops below 3.00V, even in flight. On the return and landing, how did you manage to take it down to 2.97V on the lowest cell without crashing from a motor shutdown, without externals?

I fly all my DJI stuff on battery type 3. Stock is 1, non-DJI is 2. That eliminates all auto landing and warnings. Fly at your own risk and come in low over soft terrain!

Interesting. Good info. I presume that only relates to battery warnings and not to GEO warnings, eh? However, I wasn't referring to autolanding or warnings, which are FW and app based. The battery protection circuit algorithm is hardwired to shut off any DJI battery whenever any single cell drops below 3.00V, even if in the air. It appears that your selection of battery type 3 circumvents that as well. Good to know. Any downsides to selecting type 3? Do you still get accurate remaining battery percentages and accurate remaining flight time?

Percentage is there especially important on the P4 where non-DJI battery eliminates the % reading. DJI also got rid of the mAh display because they think people are too stupid to understand it, so before I discovered this additional battery setting we had to fly the P4s on voltage only.

Flight time calculations are thankfully not estimated in type 3.

I'm confused. You said that percentage is important because it is eliminated. What did you mean to say, as you are clearly still getting both a remaining percentage battery reading and the lowest cell voltage from your screenshots?

Battery type 3 will display %. The non DJI battery setting has no % display. To use setting 3 you have to use Assistant and find the parameter 'battery_type'

Screen recording of my 9322m flight with the stock powered P4A. Stable and predictable flight to the very end of the battery.
