what does the blackwire do

While repairing my ph 3 standard I was a little rough and broke the blackwire connection to gimbol board, but the grey wire IS ok. What does grey and black wire each do. I can only fly abt 100 ft . I don't want to hook grey
wire up. and everything thing else then tear it down when ready to repair.

The black and grey wires are connected to the antennas installed on either side of the battery compartment. I've never seen anyone successfully repair a broken P3S antenna. You can buy an OEM replacement antenna here on Amazon or here on eBay.

A much easier and better fix would be the "Birdside antenna mod version 2.0." You won't have to take the shell apart AND you'll get better performance.
