Hello Community
I am having a problem with my phantom 3 pro. It is constantly beeping very loud whenever you turn it on due to a failed update. I now have tried to reinstall the firmware on the drone (01.11.00) but it keeps failing over and over again. I have tried it using several micro SD cards, with different firmwares,....I am hoping you people have got an answer for this issue
Thank you

Did you format the sd card in the AC before you added the firmware file and there are no other files on it?
Btw, like the forum name you chose. Fitting. ;)

Yes I did that and the only file on the card was the bin with the firmware on it. But no success:(
Is the process getting to the dd-d sound at the end of the update? Haven't done it in awhile. Trying to remember pertinent info that could help.

No the light indicator on the gimbal turns
solid red and there is a constant D......
During updating, I believe the sound should be ddd, ddd, ddd, until it gets to the final dd-d. This usually takes 20 minutes or so, iirc.

Yes during the update it's a triple d but it never gets to the end
After about 7min it always fails for no reason

You've mentioned trying different sd cards so probably can rule that out. Any way to verify that the bin file is not corrupt?

Yes I opened up the text file that is created during the update and there is nothing indicating the file is corrupted. And I tried downloading the bin with different browsers

Are you at 1.10.090 presently? That was the last official DJI update for the P3P. I'm not sure what would happen if you leaped over a version.

No 1.9.6 is the current version my drone is at. 1.11.00 is the firmware I'm trying to install since it is the only newer firmware available on dji.com
Tried to downgrade it as well with an older firmware available on dji.com but got the same result

From time to time we see people post here who have not unzipped the downloaded FW file. We had one just about a week ago in fact. Forgive me for asking something so basic, but have you unzipped the FW file?

Also, are you assuming that the beeping noise means a failure or are you getting a "failed" notification on the text file? I ask because we've also had many people post that their AC was beeping loudly during the FW update process, and after they were advised here on the forum to let it beep for a while they found that it completed successfully.

Since you have a P3P, if you do choose to try letting it beep for a while I would suggest using some sort of fan to blow on your AC while its updating.

I'm also having firmware update problems on my P3 Advanced, and frankly I'm a little shocked that this late in
the game the procedure is still so poorly documented and unreliable. Here's the log file for an attempt at an
upgrade to P3S_FW_V01.11.0020.bin which is the latest available from the site. Because the file extension is bin, I assume it does not
need to be unzipped. After putting this file in the root directory of the SD card, plugging it in to the drone, and powering up, here is the
resulting log file I get. Note how the first (topmost line) reports success, and then there are numerous retries that
abort an attempt to install 0090.bin (which is not the version I downloaded!). After that it tries to install 0020.bin, succeeds,
and then fails a bunch of successive times.

What the hell is going on?

@Doug M - I hate to hijack this thread, but perhaps you are fine and have already successfully installed 1.11 since your text file shows:

As for the other log entries with aborted attempts to install 1.10, they could simply be the result of the AC looking at the SD card during past startups and seeing the 1.10 FW version that you may have chosen to leave on the card. I'm just speculating. If you want more help, perhaps think about starting your own thread so that both @Let's solve this !! and you can get specific help. Cheers!

Hi friends. Sorry to have hijacked the thread earlier. I'll start a new one, and thanks for your
kind offer of help.
