Dji phantom 3 pro issues

Hello All,

I recently brought a DJI Phantom under the assumption that they worked without issue, how wrong i was.

so Im alittle stuck as to where to start in tring to get this operational again.

Problem 1: i tried flashing new firmware to the gimbal this fails every time i get a continuous DDDDDDD noise and i get.

I have seen that people re-flash the chip by using the SPI pins on the gimbals main board am i correct in thinking this may help?

Problem 2: controller does not connect the the ipad i have this is a ipad pro on IOS 16 also have litchi an DJI Go, I get no option to connect to camera could this relate to the first issue?

Problem 3: don't seem to be any connection from drone to controller.

Welcome to the forum! Oh no! You didn't upgrade the firmware, did you? Firmware for phantoms unfortunately produces bricks...

Yeah i think the guy before me did hence why he sold it is there anyway of unbricking it?

You might be able to fix it by downgrading the firmware on it.

You mentioned previously that the drone and controller are not connected. (?)
You may want to relink the two, and be sure your USB cable from the controller to the device (phone, IPad,etc) is a high quality DATA TRANSFER cable and not a cheap charging cable.

right first thing head over to goggle and find dankdronedownloader tool, it has all the firmwares you need
once you have that find the next lowest version of FW and download it
now follow this thread on how to downgrade the firmware saves me reinventing the wheel

for the controller not working on the ipad, ios sucks big time with the go app, i find that android devices work a lot better

I have used the Current Debug method for downgrading the P3P and the P3A..
Which has proven itself to work!!
So looking at how it is used...
I believe that this would work for us in the P3S side...??

There is no instructions... But I have given a good description of what it does...

Thank for all your inputs I've disassembled the the camera gimble as I've brought a replacement ribbon the old one see attached is this normal or failed.

also brought a google nexus 7 2013 as my ipad was to new to run dji go.

Also 2 versions of the board.

That ribbon cable looks like it separated in the pic. Doubt if it will work correctly.

Hopefully your 'new' ribbon cable is 100% DJI OEM ribbon cable Part # 49. There are many copycat ribbon cables out there that rarely work correctly. They are extremely delicate and damage easily. Good luck.

I have received one from Ebay cost £20 says it genuine and tested but this maybe just a sales pitch hopefully works.

Further diving into this issue, I have found on this setup the controller is not putting out anything from the controller usb, I tagged on to the uart pins and it's as dead as a dodo.

At this point I don't know if it's worth continuing spending money on it, or does anyone know of any uses for parts, out side of the motors is anything usable on custom projects?

I think if were me, before I scrapped the bird, I'd get a replacement R/C and retry the link with the drone.

It sounds like a controller issue. If the controller won't link to the Go app you are pretty much done. Try to find someone near you with a good controller to try. I have a couple. I didn't catch where you are located

(But, his trying to flash firmware to it (post #1) may have killed the bird anyway.)

I am pretty sure you are right. I have a bunch of IMU’s for p3 drones. Unfortunately I am not sure which is which. Just a big bag of IMU’s. Replacing the IMU would get around the bricking.
