New P3A user can’t get drone and controller to connect

New user. Drone and controller won’t connect. Don’t know what to do next.

Which mobile device are you using? How did you attempt to connect it? Is this a brand new Phantom?

iPad, downloaded DJI go, and I got it connect once, then it asked me to download firmware for drone and controller. Uploaded to drone fine, says download failed on 1.8 for the controller

Double check that you installed the firmware correctly. You can find detailed Phantom 3 firmware installation instructions here.

It blinked red for 6 min, no green, now a slow beep from the controller
