Phantom 3 Standard- Weird problem

My Phantom 3 Standard powers on, but I’m experiencing several issues. Only the battery light comes on and the link light , and while the motors make the usual ‘beep-beep’ sound when powered on, the red link light stays solid and doesn’t pair to my controller at all. The strobe indicator lights don’t turn on at all. The drone won’t connect to the remote controller, and when I try to connect it to my phone, there’s no telemetry or camera feed. Additionally, the gimbal doesn’t power on. I bought the drone from someone who mentioned it had been in storage for a couple of years. Could these issues be caused by a faulty battery, or is there another underlying problem?

Welcome to the forum!
I know a lot about the P3S, quite a few other members here.

I will have MANY questions.

Have you ever seen this fly?

Did the remote come with the bird?

Do you know if that was the remote that it was linked with.?

Rod ..

OK,

Take a look at @msinger site.

Linking the bird to the controller is next, you don't need a mobile device at all.

The remote and the bird should have connected when both were powered on.
If something has not changed since then.

This statement confuses me.
"The strobe indicator lights don’t turn on at all."

I’ve tried linking using the videos and tutorials still doesn’t work also what I meant by the strobe indicator lights are the 4 lights on each Arm that become yellow and green and red they don’t turn on

Thanks. I read it as they come on but they don't strobe,

My thought at the moment is the battery, but if all motors power up.
I'm sure they would light up and strobe, the gimbal would do its normal start up thing, with out a remote connected.

Sorry, I never learned to type, a got 10 mins into this already.

It must be a cable or a circuit board issue.

I'm curious about the history of this unit.
Has it went into water?

Crap I have many more.

I'm sure other members are watching this and they correct me.

Honestly I am pretty good with technology and in the Mobile repair and Pc building world, but I can’t seem to figure it out only the little red light comes on and the Motors beep that’s it also it does get pretty hot

I got your computer knowledge now.
I have put many together, wrote a POS program for our retail business in1989, OMG.
Anyways, I have many post on this forum retaliated to the P3S.

I'm really trying to remember some of this past stuff.
One thing I remember, someone corrected me that the led on the P3S, was not the reset button, the reset button is next to the led on the mother board if it was stuck like a closed circuit $hit Is solid or blinking?

Also, that guy actually posted a picture of the led and the push button on that thread.

It’s solid the red light

Yes, somebody that wrote computer programs in clipper, foxpro etc, can't type, spelling is pretty bad.

Misspelling in programing is a bonus on memory variables. !!

Did you try manual link ?
Couple years is scary part, that's 1 to 5 , getting hot not sound good, use fan just to keep bit cool while it's on, only rear lights on arms tell you what's goin on,front for just show and always red unless you turn them off in app
This yellow green red is self diagnostic start up sequence, you say solid red light,,where,,link light or gimble light on cam,,RC light red till linked then go green like rest , any sd card in gimble ? No card Make red light to,it be green with card in slot if it's working
Is the link button clicking when you press with small item(pen or pin) , any rattling inside the drone, these link buttons have fallen off inside in the past, concentrate on the trying to link part then worry about anything else when linked ,try find out past history on why it got stored , some can be a real can of worms when left, unlike bears phantoms dont hybinate well ,
Beeping could be firmware related or calibration needed somewhere, remote or IMU

remove any sd cards in the camera?

Thanks guys!
I needed some help, in the night I was thinking of info is his original post.

No flashing strobes, most import no gimbal moment.

You cannot link a P3S to a remote without a working gimbal.
Once it is linked you can remove the gimbal and flight it like a RC Car.

No strobe lights flashing when he powers it on?
That is not a linking problem.

The battery powering up the motors, should have enough power to use the strobes.
There should be some tones when its powered on until it has a connection to the remote.

Also the 4 beeps on a power up is each motor.
I didn't believe it, a buddy explained it. I still don't understand it.

I did but still the same no gimble movement or telemetry data and no strobes either just that Red Little light
So no rear lights on arms at all to indercate what drone is doin and only a red gimble light ?
I misread the beeping part ,duno why I thought it had a continuous beeping unlike start up chirp,
This what I was saying about a can of worms,,,unless you get it to link ain't nothing going to happen,
No power at gimble could be ribbon cable or bad board, I not goin to say buy this or that cause might not fix the issue, could also be cheaper to find another p3 for parts so you got bits to try eliminate
Yeh video shows it not happy
Follow wires from gimble to plug and unclip and clip back in,which bit gets hot
