ESC Error after obstructed rotor - take a peek at my board?

Well, then I guess you goofed up. Especially if it is still under warranty. Why someone takes apart a $1000 toy and voids the warranty when it's a known issue is baffling to me. Let me know how that works out for you.
Maybe you can be the one to figure out why there are all these ESC errors after the firmware update.
Does crashing it not void the warranty? I'd rather Amazon prime a new board in a night and fix it myself than waiting for dji to spend weeks on a repair. But I'm impatient. Or if it ends up just being a loose connection; I'd gladly trade a voided warranty to fix it myself in a day.
I don't think this is a firmware issue, but wanted to rule that out.

Well I need to tell you something and maybe it will be helpful
A few weeks ago I have a crash at the beach. Motors were full of sand and give me an error after crash
So I decided to change the motors clean the gimbal.
When I put the battery ...... esc error.....
So
I pull te battery out y when I put it in I give a hard hit to push the battery in.
Esc error is gone.
I,ve notice that after a crash the IMU for some kind of reason gets stuck and gets those errors
Try to give a hit from the other side of the crash to try the imu goes back to its place
It worked for me
Think this is not logical but it works
Hope it will be helpful, let me know

I have the same issue with ESC error. It started a on the last firmware update.. although that may be a coincidence. I was told it was either a bad motor or the board needed to be replaced. I replace two of the motors and it worked for about a week. Then the ESC errors were back. But now I will get an ESC error, restart and it usually goes away. Flies fine, no error message once it clears. However, when I change the battery, I usually have to restart it then too. It's pretty annoying and I don't feel like sending it in for repair, since it't my backup. I would rather work on it myself. I will probably replace the other two motors and the board.

I have also noticed, it takes longer for the aircraft to warm up.. about two minutes. I think it used to warm up and become ready to fly sooner.

Dyed anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks,

Bert

Hey Bert,
Your issue sounds exactly the same as mine. I too have noticed that the "aircraft warming up" message seems to linger a bit longer than I ever recall seeing. I was able to get my drone to power up the motors today fairly consistently and took it outside for an uneventful flight.
I just charged the battery back up and the esc error is now back and won't go away.

I've found that popping the shell off will usually resolve the ESC error within a few minutes. Could this be an overheating issue?

pretty frustrating that for all of the computing power this machine has, it's seemingly impossible to debug which ESC or motor may be bad.

here's another log dump that doesn't appear to tell me anything I don't already know. Going to involve DJI support and see if I can get an answer other than 'send us your drone and 300 dollars'

Did you start getting ESC errors after the last update? That is when it started with me.

I may put in a new board before I send it it. Cloud City Drones told me that they could run diagnostic on it for $50. I may do that first and then get a quote on repair. I don't really want to dump a lot of money into this. But before the annoying ESC issues, this drone was rock solid and easy fly.

Anyone know what the outcome of droneforumaccount's issue?

Outcome was that it was flying fairly well until it failed to do a return home with 30 percent battery headed up wind. Got an error saying propulsion output limited to conserve battery and couldn't get it to make pace headed back. Was over a river, so was frantically steering towards land....when i lost radio comm...last shot from the app had me 100 ft up 'landing' over a government secured oil refinery. Introduced myself to them (and the coast guard) but we never found the drone. Happily rocking a p4 now.

Thațs a real bummer that u lost it! were u testing it out when u lost it? Do u think the esc error was the cause of ur loss? I too have a esc error when trying to start motors! I cant get past it however! Not sure what do do about it as I cant afford to send it anywhere for repair. I had to rob peter and paul to buy the aircraft.... Anyway i was reading your posts and appreciate your input.

i think the ESC issues i was having definitely didn't help help. I was testing it when the incident happened. it was flying well but I noticed that EM a few times "propulsion output limited to conserve battery". I had never seen that prior to the esc errors. my own fault for having it a thousand feet away, over water, downwind, with 30% battery though. Coast guard made me delete the cached video footage of the incident from my phone :(

good luck with your issues! In hindsight, I should have sent it back for professional repair. But I didn't want to give it back to them for a few weeks. Is yours still under warranty?
