Question on up date after reading PDF instructions with 1.2.6, update.

After reading item 2 below,
Do you have to have the air craft powered on for the camera to make this beeping sound,
or will it get its needed power from just having the battery in place on the P3.
It does not say any thing about powering on the air craft while up dating the
controller.

Step 3- Update the Remote Controller
1. Power on the remote controller and wait 60 seconds until the upgrade begins. Do not power off the remote controller during the update.

2. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the firmware update. The camera will sound a beeping sound and the Status LED on
the remote controller shows solid blue to indicate the update is in progress. The Status LED on remote controller shows solid green and
beeping sound will stop if the upgrade is completed with success. The Status LED on remote controller shows solid red if upgrade is failed

Thanks for help with my question.

I just did it and yes the drone does need to be powered on if you're updating using the SD card in the gimbal. Otherwise you would be trying to get data to transfer from a device with no power. You might get a second auto-generated txt file on your SD card saying the Phantom firmware is exactly the one that is on there, if you powered the drone down before continuing to update the RC. If you know your drone was successfully updated, then just ignore this second txt message.
