turning off VPS

Hey guys,
I read when flying at lower altitude over water you should turn off VPS. I haven't tried it yet because when you switch it off it warns you that it wont hover at low altitude so i cancel it.

If if turn off VPS what can I expect to happen.

True. Check out the Phantom manual for a bunch of other scenarios where VPS does not work well either. It was really made for flying indoors. I don't recommend attempting to use VPS when flying outdoors.

That the ultrasonics won't be able to level the P3 out at under 10' and the bottom facing camera won't help stabilize the P3 at under 10'.

What can I expect at the controls?

You won't notice any difference at more then about 12' and very little under that. VPS is nice when at around 3' and you climb up a grade. Almost never.
