P4 v1. Lost connection. Did not RTH.

Don't forget the 'Phantom Magnet Trees'. They are all over.....even in Hawaii. Drones like to fly close to them and usually get snagged...........and usually get caught where you can't just climb up and grab it. Just keep looking. Take some friends with you to help look........with the promise of free beer and pizza if they find it. Searchers with that kind of 'motivation' will be a great help.

Yep. I always load up the Marco Polo tag on the drone....part of my preflight checklist. ( Even test flights locally. ) Ya' never know when the drone will go off exploring on its' own.

Plus, ALWAYS put contact info on the drone..........something short and simple......like "Reward if Found"...and your phone number.

I'm gonna guess you hit the top of some hills. Google maps road side view shows hills to the west from the east side, and shows hills to the east from the west side. Google Maps
What's more helpful than making a guess, is to look at factual information.
As mentioned in post #8, there were no hills on the return path.
To get back, the drone had to cross a valley.
This profile shows the terrain on the return path.
The drone was 70 ft above the ground when signal was lost.

Here's a video showing the last 5 seconds of the flight. It's not conclusive, but it appears the drone was high enough to clear any nearby obstacles.

200ft ?
Did you retrieve it, or is still there?

Let us know how it goes!

BTW, I know you are new here, but if something like this happens again.
#1 You are required to take a picture of where you found it.
#2 If you have to retrieve it, you need somebody to be filming you climbing the tree.

:) 👍👌
