Hello everyone,

I have done a lot of searching but have not find a solution for my problem.

Story:
I was out flying with my drone on the Maldives (quite hot weather), had three batteries with me. Flew my drone and empty two batteries. Placed the drone in the shadow for like 20 min. Started the drone with my third battery and following happened aprox. 1 min after start:
  • Got the notification, gimbal overheating warning (don't remember 100%)
  • The camera start doing very very quick and strange moves
I landed and turned off the drone.

Now:
  • Gimbal don't move at all
  • Overall status says:
    • Gimbal tilt error
    • Hardware Malfunction. Contact customer service for repairs
    • Gimbal roll error
    • Hardware Malfunction. Contact customer service for repairs
I saw that the gimbal-fan didn't work, I pushed it bit with a small tops, now it seems to work again...
Note, this was not my first flight in the hot weather.

Anyone heard of this issue? Solutions? Or just leave it for the pros to repair?

Thanks for your help.

/Adam

If the gimbal overheated, then issue is probably in top board. But I'm not that sure it's the cause - overheated top board first causes loss of FPV video, not gimbal stabilization damage. Issues with stabilization usually mean flat flex cable needs replacing.

I have sent the drone to DJI in Netherlands for repair. Apparently the drone is water damaged. I can't understand how. Unfortunately they can't repair drones with water damage and are offering me a replacement drone, 693 euros....
