Hi Guys, I'm trying to get a definitive answer on the whole bind, rebind, unbind thing I recently heard about. I read dji was going to stop helping with. I've been pulling my hair out!! So does it apply to the p4 or not? I asked in ( p help.com ) and still got the same some people said yes you do some no u don't. So what's the verdict. Please 🙏 help and thank you.

What are you referring to "unbind"

@sansuciboy1 it's best to refer to the guide DJI made available here. You can only unbind a drone if it uses DJI Fly.

First off thank u for your help and time, I have been there before I hooked everything thing back up and turned it on didn't see anything about bindings only between ac and controller. I went to me wich I assume is profile and just a letter number combo no other info such as bound or anything so I guess it's unbound. Would it say bound ?? Seams as though everything is erased in flight log only my few tests what do u think 🤔

In the good old days of GO and GO 4 apps (used on the Phantom models), we could buy and sell our drones without any "unbinding". You just needed a DJI account and once logged in you were good to go. Miss those days and one reason I still fly em. They're Big but serve a purpose, for me that's carrying a load..mostly for fishing.

The whole unbinding thing doesn't apply to any Phantom.
It only affects drones that use the Fly app.

The fly app?? Mmm. Wich app am I using ? Dji GO 4 I just know I downloaded the the dji pilot app for phantom 4 and it work great so far. By the way thank u everyone who responded 🙏 to my question u guy's are all awesome here. And secondary note , I just got off the phone with a dji technician who told me there is no binding or unbinding with the Phantom 4 and there never was. I finally can not worry about switching remote back and forth if need be, because I have two p4's and two Rc's . Thanks again every one who chimed in. Cheers

It seems like you've answered your own question. You're using DJI Pilot, not DJI Fly.

Lol I wasn't sure what I was using honestly I didn't know the names of the different apps and wich drones used what. I'm very new at drones and trying to learn as much as possible, and as fast as I can. Thanks to u and all the other very very knowledgeable people here I'm getting there. Trying to play catch up and studying drone stuff takes up at least half of my day everyday. Please have patience with me, when I'm passionate about something I give it 💯 %. Cheers

The short answer is no, does not apply to Phantoms. I was pretty concerned about this to as I just gave my Phantom to a relative and then heard about the binding issue. Researched it and here is what DJI is saying about this issue: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=341830&pbc=mF6h4ZTt
You'll notice no Phantoms are affected by this issue. I now know this for a fact since the Phantom I had just given to a relative was able to be associated to their DJI account with no flight restrictions or other issues. Best to all here.

Yes..someone told me that my phantom 4 was useless and going to be a yard toy very soon and I needed to contact the previous owner now and as of the 19th would no longer help. So I was freaking out, panicking thinking I made a big mistake. So I posted here and called dji and dji was very nice and helpful. The people here love and fly and own phantoms and are very smart and knowledgeable. U can learn alot here. I'm very glad this forum helped you and set ur mind at ease. Cheers

I read that DJI was no longer giving support or servicing ANY model of the Phantom series anymore. That they moved on.
I didn't see the Phantom series listed in the drones affected. I've got a P2V that no longer is seen in my wifi list. It use to be seen and connected but not since the unbind/rebind policy. The last owner never got back to me, I just posted a thread about my issue asking for help. I'm going to contact DJI and see if they'll help me.

That has nothing to do with the binding or unbinding we're discussing in this thread, as Phantom drones cannot be bound or unbound.

Where are reading this?
Looking through your posts I think you have a P2V and you can't connect to your mobile device?
I'm only familiar with the P2V+ and it had WiFi booster that was on the remote, no wires, but it had a battery and a power switch.

I read it on the DJI website. If I did this right you can open the link. The last paragraph at the bottom is very DJI.
In DJI HELP CENTER this is the title:
Notice of Suspension of Service and Support for Old Product Series.

This is the link

The Range Extender was just as it says....to extend the wifi range. So that your bird can connect to the wifi signal at a further distance then before. I'm not interested in that. I want to be able to connect to see the camera view. I'm just flying it over my home and a few neighbors checking roofs for moss.
