I'm flying a phantom 3 standard using djigo.. I am coupling that with an apple mini first generation. I know that device is not an approved choice, but other than one problem I have had no problems. The only think I can't do is
review photos/vids by pressing the icon under the camera settings. I only get a black screen in the Dji screen that says. Connection error, tap to reload which doesn't work.
Never the less I am about to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T Mobil 4 G LTE & WiFi. To see if that will solve my problem. does anyone know if that is a tablet that will work? Thanks so much to anyone who has the time and cares enough to read this long missive!!

I just checked DJI website and that tablet is not listed as compatible. Go to their website, select drones, your model, specifications and you will see the list of compatible tablets.

If you have access to a store that sells tablet you like, ask the salesperson if you could plug controller to it and see how it looks and performs on screen. I use Nvidia shield Tethered (when needed) to my Samsung S5 and it is awesome. Has HDMI output to mirror to big screen T.V.

North Texas Guy, you can find a list of recommended and commonly used devices here.

It almost seems they are forcing folks to go to Apple devices

as a never owned an Apple, Android and Windows user/tech I find that sad.

I say that because the adndorid list doesn't appear get updated much
Android has so many NEWER newer Higher powered tablets
that out spec Apple stuff anymore or at very least have equal specs .

It looks from my shoes anyhow,
Android is NOT in DJI FUTURE

Good luck and have fun flying!

I too, recommend the NOT IN THE LIST, shield-1

I ask DJI one question
since the shield is arguably the lost popular non apple device I see posted about
WHY isn't it, what makes it NOT listable.....

Android is very much in DJIs future. Just buy a cheap tablet and side load the app. I use a cheap Lenovo 7" tab and all is well. :)

I have the shield k-1

that will work for now but :
how many folks want to search out older stuff to buy?
how long will the older stuff work
since the GO APP increase in size and resource needs weekly it seems...

my point is they have not updated the list to any newer android devices.
yet many newer I stuff is listed
why not newer android devices, is the underlying question.

they default to the "list" far to often when issues arise, both android and apple

after the rc 1.8 a couple weeks ago absolutely destroyed my video stream, that was first thing said
shield k-1 not on list.......

reverted to 1.6 myself as well as many others to fix the issue.

good luck and have fun flying!

Ok, most tablets/ipads/etc are all made in the same factories in SE Asia using the same components and same designs, they are just 'branded' with a company logo and marketed ........DJI cannot be expected to test every 'flavour' so they take a sample. Today's tablets are seen as disposable items cause tomorrow there will be a greater/better one so why spend 100's of $$$$ on a tablet that is effectively obsolete the moment it hits the market.

Just my thoughts.....:)

My thanks to all that took the time to respond...i

I'm new to this board and am struggling with the learning curve. However I just
Noticed that I I have 1 thumb up and 9 or so thumbs down. How did I make so many negatives so quick? I haven't had any time to offend someone!
