Hi gave that ago but the min it comes on I get that loud noise. Left it on foot an hour but still beeping. I looked at log and it said something like step 3 fail. The phantom is only less than 2 months old. Think I might contact supplier and tell them the problem seems a bit off me having to do this to a brand new machine. What do you think? [emoji22]

Worth a shot

You only put the UNZIPPED ( .bin ) file on as card right? And in the ROOT directory?( root is the main directory, when you view the card, you'll see it there , NOT in a folder or sub directory )
Also, if you go into phantom help Archeives, You can find most of the older firmwares, you can step back only 1 firmware from where you are, so for example if your craft is 1.8.0, then you can go up to 1.9.0, or back to 1.7.0. You might try to revert to older, then back to recent!

You can upgrade through go app, by clicking it, or revert by holding TOP RIGHT SYMBOL ( go app home screen, where you choose your craft ) hold that symbol for a couple seconds, then let go, a screen will pop up, giving you any options you have, choose firmware reversion, and install!

Also, card readers , and adaptors SUCK, try plugging your cable from computer to gimbal, and copy .bin file right onto card. turn off phantom, unplug cable, turn on phantom, should upload firmware!

Hi yes there was nothing else on the card so I put the .bin file onto the card. Then turn on the phantom which makes that noise and the green light starts going on the gimble. When I look at the card later there are a few folders on it which must have been created. I will have another go using laptop and cable. When I turn on the phantom the gimble also goes wild too. There are no lights on the wings either.

Have you swapped the shaft 180?
Or tried just unhooking the gimbal all together?

Hi yes turned the shaft. Also tried without gimble. I put the bin file on and it's beeping away now. The gimble stops shaking after a few seconds I thought maybe as no firmware etc. Will leave it another 15 min beeping if still the same will insist on a replacement.

One last thing I thought of
Is the .bin file EXACTLY the same as the zip file? ( in other words, no extra periods, letters, numbers, ect? )
They need to be identical to each other to the T! Some PC's add extra stuff when unzipped! Just double check that! I read that somewhere, also read one guy had to use a different PC, his would not do it, but another did? He even tried again with PC and failed again, where other PC was fine? Just things to consider!

Just spoke to Dji on the chat support who were very helpfull. Pointed me towards YouTube and upgrading and when I told them the amount of time I had spent trying to upgrade they then said ok will replace it or your retailer will so sending it back for another. Will keep you posted.
