When I got the replacement I upgraded the firmware. Now I am showing a horizontal distance limit of 500 meters. Is that correct? I tried to video a bridge in Rio Vista a few days ago and couldn't even fly it across the river before I got the ol' "maximum distance reached" wazoo.
