They work good if:Does anyone here recommend using a Trackimo GPS and is it worth it?
They work good if:
1. You don't buy the 2G version that will shut down next year.
2. You always fly where ATT has coverage (I believe that's who they use for the newer 3G).
3. You don't lose your craft in a canyon where 3G cannot reach.
4. You don't mind paying a low monthly fee for the cellular service.
5. You don't vacation in remote areas or countries the don't support the carrier, and you'd like to fly your drone.
Optionally, Marco polo doesn't have those issues, it has other issues;
1. It's only good for two miles.
2. You really need to have a good idea of where the craft is, and be within 2mi to enable the beacon mode, from sleep mode.
3. Initially it costs more, about $250, however there is no monthly fee.
4. Locating takes longer, it does not use gps, it uses a direction finder.
Other perks of Marco polo:
1.Battery lasts 30 days on a charge (to be safe, 20 days).
2. Slightly lighter and smaller device.
3. Second unit costs $95 for just the beacon transmitter (for a second craft, or pet).
4. Doesn't require cellular service to work, it works virtually anywhere.
Perks of Trackimo
1. Exact location capability with GPS coordinates, quicker to find.
2. Reasonably low monthly fee for cellul
Thanks for the great advise
Yes, but I forget what frequency.- marco polo sounds interesting - is that radio frequency tech?
Per the Marco Polo website:Yes, but I forget what frequency.
Interesting design. Are people supposed to keep VPS disabled when using that gimbal guard?Hi, we have a trackimo mounting platform for the P3 with a built in gimbal guard here
This shouldn't be in the P4 section since it won't work. It would be more appropriate to show this in the P3 sections.Hi, we have a trackimo mounting platform for the P3 with a built in gimbal guard here
