HELP, I am in County Kildare, Ireland. I have a Phantom 3 Standard. It was in storage for ages and now the battery won't fire up at all.
I'm assuming it is the battery. If I don't get it linked to a new device by Thursday 19th June, I will never be able to link it again.
If anyone has a Phantom 3 standard, please, please, will you let me use your battery, just to link it to my phone. It will also allow me
to know if the drone worked and is worth the big money of a new battery. Obviously, I will travel to meet you. I'm a very normal, non criminal sort of person.
I would be prepared to cover your travel, if we ended up meeting somewhere 'in between'.

Not sure what you mean by this, there isnt a time limit on linking, please explain so we can help further

You may want to post this request in the "Regional Meetups" section on the Forum.........in the 'International' section at the bottom. It may be easier to find a local pilot in your area that will offer their assistance.

Good luck.

Guess he either worked it out or doesnt need help anymore

Thank you very much. I'll try that.

Hi. Thank you very much for your assistance. I discovered that if the previous owner had unlinked it to their account and you had a DJI account, you could still ink it to that. Unbelievably I remembered my account details from almost ten years ago. So, yes that panic was over. I do still really want to just have a battery for two minutes to see if the drone still flies, before I throw £75 for a replacement battery. I will try regional meet-ups. I really appreciate the offers of help, and my apologies if I didn't get back earlier. (I also bought a cheap-ish second hand drone, but it ain't DJI and I don't want to be ripped to shreds on here, so I'll say nowt. Haven't got it up yet, but this weekend fingers crossed.) Regards. M.

On the older quads such as the P3 using Go app, there wasnt any issue with needing the original owner to unbind/unlink it, in fact you could have just created an account at dji website and used that.

Its the newer quads using the Fly app that have the binding to account protection feature, guess DJI realised that stolen quads need to be grounded.
