Phantom 3 Standard range mod , let's do it together...

This will be good arduino motherboard for fixing?

Hi all,

Today I have checked RC of my P3S (DBS installed) with Rodhe & Schwartz FSH-8 spectrum analyzer, and I would like to share some results.

rs_m.jpg

So, 2.4 GHz power is 16dbm in CE mode, 19dbm in FCC mode, and after changing power by command "iw dev wlan0 set tx power 2700", the analyzer shows me about 26 dbm. This is maximum of power on 2.4 GHz. You can, as example, set tx power to 33dbm, but actually you will get 26-27 dbm.

5.8 GHz power is 7 dbm (i was surprised, but maybe this is not correct vaule due to proprietary digital modulation). There is no matter if RC in CE or FCC mode. Looks like the 5.8 GHz power is a constant.

Maybe this will help for further mods.

By the way, I also checked this 5.8 GHz amplifier and this 2.4 GHz amplifier.
5.8 GHz amplifier works fine and gain is about 7 dbm.
2.4 GHz amplifier, with described 2W output power, actually can give 500 mW output from 100 mW input. I tried to put 500 mW to input, but got 500 mW on output, and signal is very dirty, gives very big interference on entire Wi-Fi band.

For 2.4Ghz amplifier, I suggest Sunhans 2.5W, it give me good result (about 4km), cost only $200 rmb (30usd) from Taobao (China ebay)

I power this 5.8 GHz amplifier and Sunhans 2.5W x2 with 3S 2200 mah lipo battery, but you need to make a power cable for it (Sunhans 2.5W amp come with AC to DC 12v power supply)

You don't need to buy Sunhans 3W, because it is expensive

Thank you!
But I need 2 of these 2.4G amplifiers for P3S, isn't it? What do you think about this dual amplifier?

And one extra question. I got very good results (1.5-2km) out of the city, and only 500-600 meters in the city. 5.8G control signal is OK during all the flight route, but FPV on 2.4G wi-fi is not. All 13 wi-fi channels are in intensive use in the city, and too many interference because of this.

What channel should I use to minimize interference?

Thank you.

I use 2 of sunhans 2.5w amp and got about 2KM in city (Hong Kong)
I don't suggest that dual amplifier because it only have 1W.

Hi guys, i'm just signup to this forum for said thank you for all of you guys who sharing this mods :relaxed:
before this mod i'm just only can fly at below 100m
now i got 400m on inner city without any problem of signal lost, just enought because i'm flying safe (VLOS) only

How long can 2200 mah battery power the 3 amplifiers?
What do you think about this and this batteries?
Could you please clarify, what exactly battery do you use and what charger do you use?

Thank you.

it just a normal 3s 11.1v lipo battery for rc
i made a power cord and direct feed power to 5.8ghz amp + 2.4ghz amp x2

i have 3 phantom battery, and this 2200mah 3s lipo battery available to complete more than 3 flight

you can try to use 12v usb power bank

Guys, how about modding the 2.4GHz (video and ap) module or replacing it to achieve 1W for the wireless Video Link?

Here's something I found for the Phantom 2 V/V+
DJI大疆精灵2老款遥控器(2.4G、4节干电池)1W增程改装板

Could something like this be possible for the P3S ?

Kudos @SingLag @Ojcze Nasz
this board is for Phanom 2 (with out vision, using 2.4ghz for RC)
for boost signal on RC, I suggest to use external amp, because you can re-use it on other RC later

Hi i just join this group.
Need help. I just follow tutorial to change the scrip inside drome and remote
But now i cannot ditect the wifi.
I try to find frinware for the site but cannot find

I use p3 4k with last fw.

Can someone link me the frinware file thanks

Good job Vengant!

This is because we have not yet discovered the method to mod RC 5.8 GHz.
I guess that you're in the zone CE.
No. Power does not changing at the RC startup, with no GPS and no DJI GO connection.
