Im now using alfa 7dbi 2.4 directional antennas, gained about 50-70% extra range over stock.

I have dbs-01 and it is better than stock but not excellent because low c/p rate (too expensive)

i found this 2in1 5.8g+2.4g antenna (3port) from china ebay, cost $385rmb

I just noticed the drones 2.4ghz directional antennas either side of the battery, facing sideways? Can you increase range flying sideways? I think im going to relocate them

I did reassigned the position of internal patch antenna. front and back...outside of drone body.

I ordered one of these also. Should be here any day now.
The problem with it is that you'll need additional power supply of minimum 5V.
I also have 3.7 to 5 DC to DC inverter board that can handle up to 3A at 5V.
I'm planning to use internal battery which is 3.7V, but I'm affraid this is gonna draw a lot of current. Will deplete the internal battery twice as fast as normal.

Have you set this up yet? I've been toying with the idea of using internal battery as well? Also perhaps using a larger inboard battery for the whole remote and amps.

I'm curious to k ow how this particular amp works and if it's worth saving the bucks?

So many people just go sunhans which is more money; but as most of us know you get what you pay for.

I checked another drone with firmware 1.3.050. Iwinfo also gives: "txpower 17 dBm" in CE mode.
So DJI did not reduce the WIFI power in the software 1.4.060, 1.5.070 and 1.6.080. The change must be for something else.

Exactly.
It's a combination of firmware and app version.
I have 1.6.8 with some libraries from 1.5.7 and not even DJI GO is able to change me back to CE.... I'm at full 27dBm btw...

If I made this mod, would it void my warranty ? If I had already done the mod, and sent it back to DJI, could that brick my controller ...... if they reflash the firmware on the Phantom for example ?
