Newby with P3 Standard

I am having trouble getting into Intelligent Flight Mode. I am following the instructions in the user manual, as far as I can tell, but it will not allow me to switch modes. I have tried attempting to go there with the DJI flight app, and also tried switching back and forth the S1 switch on the controller. Any help or suggestions from anyone out there would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you have to activate multiple flight mode through the app, I think intelligent flight is F

Pretty sure you need to take it up in the air first, move S1 to the bottom and you should see the intelligent flight mode on the left side of the screen.

Up is P, middle is A and down is F

Yes , you need to be airborne to use the function
