An endless circle of sorting out how to sort out sorting through the new drone laws in Canada... sorta

The ONLY reason for this "Interim Order" from Garneau and Transport Canada is to CYA. If anyone has an accident or incident through recklessness or just unintentional then Transport can say "See we told you not to do that". This is just an over-reaction to the delays piling up trying to pass actual civil air regulations. Without this Order, the government is liable for real flight safety risks they have not covered with regulations. . . this allows them to place the blame on the individual not them for failure to control the airspace. If you are in doubt about the Flight Safety risks just read the incident reports around major airports here type in 1Jan17 and today and read.
Enter search as containing the words either "UAV" or "Drone" and search for those words in the text/description of the incident

It is unfortunate they have to spread such a wide WET BLANKET on this growing recreational sport, industry and small business opportunities . . This is temporary! . . . but if you are "mad as hell" and in this for the long haul you need to speak up and make your views known to you MP so that responsible voices can be heard and reasonable regulation can follow. There are also technical solutions to the REAL Flight Safety issues and they need to be voiced as well. Google "DJI political" and follow some of those links.

Can that mean that it is not against the law unless your caught?

Lets pretend DJI announces the launch of a new drone on May 24th called the "Spark" and its 190 grams with the battery.

Since its under 250 grams, would this hypothetical drone be exempt from the new Canadian drone law?
