Just Lost My 1 Week old P4P Help Please

That drone is gone Brian. It doesn't look at all like anyone could safely navigate that area, aimlessly looking for it. The only thing that could be worth a shot is to look for it from the sky with another drone to pinpoint the location so at least if someone goes in there they're making a B-line right to it. Other than that, gone, sorry to say. Solid ground it could maybe be done but a marshy hazmat dump area- NG. Don't do it.

Why is she voiding my REFRESH warranty then. Even if I find bird I can't get replaced under refresh...they voided the warranty...7 days into it. She wrote back sorry I'm upset but these are their policies.
I recall when I considered the refresh policy (I never proceeded to purchase) the fine print said that in the event of an unrecoverable AC you had the option to transfer the balance of the policy to a new AC. This wouldn't be the first occasion where DJI have given incorrect advice.

On what she sent me today it says NO TRANSFERABLE.

Yes see what I'm saying? Even if the fences can be breached it's a bad area to hunt. I wouldn't want to send someone in and they get hurt. My one possibility is when the crew returns, they have heavy equipment and perhaps can get me back there but then it has to be found blindly. I have flown several flights overhead since Friday and cannot spot it from the air. I record and watch carefully at home..

I know this message from DJI was from a while ago, but:
Litchi/AutoPilot Apps void your warranty

Hi Jim,

I’ve forwarded everything over to Social, and they should be able to get the posts up soon. Also forwarded the updates to the web team for the DJI Developer site showcase.

Simply flying a DJI aircraft using a third party app doesn’t void the warranty. However, if the pilot crashes or causes damage that is not due to mechanical failure, then it’s their responsibility to cover at least some if not all of the estimated repair cost.

Spoke to supervisor...warranty is void when flying any 3rd party app supported or not. Also he clarified that flying Litchi would void the factory warranty and the DJI Care warranty...
I would not accept that as fact. Demand that they prove where the policy states that use any 3rd party app voids the policy, and where the DJI warranty states that mere use of any 3rd party app voids the warranty. Total BS! Both BladeStrike and Tahoe Ed have clearly stated that this is NOT true! These reps and supervisors are either lying to you or so poorly trained as to be totally ignorant of the facts. Make them back up their opinions with cold hard facts in writing from the policy and the warranty! They do not exist! Do not give up! Be a pain in their side, until they back down, or provide written proof of the BS they are spouting! I don't have a DJI Refresh policy so I don't know what language is in there, but I trust Blade and Tahoe, and they sat otherwise! Obviously, if the crash is, in fact, caused by the 3rd party app there would be no warranty coverage, but mere use of a 3rd party app is far from proof that the 3rd party app caused the crash, and not a warrantee covered system failure!

This is all I can find in the warranty. I think it's a lost cause.

× Failure of, or damage caused by, any third party products, including those that DJI may provide or integrate into the DJI product at your request.
The operative language is "caused by" and there is no proof whatsoever that Litchi caused the crash. The burden of such proof is on DJI, in order to exclude coverage!

Well to add insult to injury my 7 day old DJI Refresh warranty has been voided...and DJI hopes I understand!!! WTF...So I'm out $1500 bird, and $150 warranty in a week. I will definitely dispute DJI Refresh payment..this is crazy. Who knew Litchi was the devil. Surely there is nothing in Litchi to take this bird down, this is simply DJI wiggling out. So if I go find the bird now my Refesh is void too.

Every one of these exclusions requires the the exclusion be the cause of the crash. Litchi was not the cause of the crash! There is no evidence of this!

Precisely! Ignorance, poor training, and a god complex causes these idiots to make stuff up that is total B.S.!

On what she sent me today it says NO TRANSFERABLE.

This may be incorrect.... Read 2) under exceptions below.

Can I return, replace or transfer my DJI Care service plan?
In general, you may not return, replace or transfer your DJI Care service plan.

Exceptions:
1) You can request to cancel DJI Care if you return the product under DJI‘s Return Policy. You should provide a copy of the original receipt, proof of successful return and the S/N of the returned aircraft and gimbal by email to [email protected].
NOTE: If you do not return the aircraft, DJI Care cannot be canceled.

2) For flyaway or cases involving water damage, DJI Care can be transferred if you choose to purchase another aircraft. You should send the S/N of the old aircraft and gimbal as well as S/N of the new aircraft and gimbal to [email protected]. We will add the S/N of the new aircraft and gimbal to your existing DJI Care service plan.
NOTE: When DJI Care is purchased, the bound S/N of the aircraft and gimbal cannot be transferred to another aircraft or gimbal.

I missed the attachment earlier (DJI email). I would suggest, even on the basis of literal interpretation, Litch is unlikely to be argued as an "unauthenticated third oart accessory". Someone needs to explain to those at DJI that make false representations of this nature that statutory consumer rights override manufacturers warranty conditions. I appreciate DJI care may be more in the nature of insurance/service agreement however I have seen the clowns try on the third party software exclusion with warranty also.

Exactly. April is an ignorant buffoon!

Well problem is without the bird I can't prove it wasn't Litchi but I know it wasn't. I've flown Litchi for years without issue. Before the bird dropped out of the sky I had completed two batteries and since the crash I've used Litchi and no drop from the sky. They wouldn't even look at my data because it was Litchi.

Fair enough that they only accept DJI GO logs for analysis. We know from the many accounts here however they will honour warranty for flights flown with litchi where the AC is available and the flight log reveals hardware/DJI software to be the likely cause. Clearly litchi use does not automatically void warranty. Buy a new P4 or other DJI AC and ask for the DJI care balance to be applied to it

Wow, this thread has turned into a fairly angry DJI rant about customer service being poorly informed and confusing policies.

From my experience. I had a P4 drone damaged and DJI replaced it with a new drone, not refurbished, and transferred the remaining balance on the DJI care to the new SS number and gimbel number. I received a new DJI care statement with the new numbers and remaining coverage clearly stated.

Regarding customer care and DJI, there really is no excuse for the hold times, the lack of information, and the poor responses by the service representatives. Unfortunately, for those of us who want a high end prosumer drone, I am unaware of any options. And, DJI is a privately owned company. There is no board to respond to stock holders.

Unlike many forums where the company has a presence with a customer rep. who reads and responds, or a facebook site that has a good response, DJI remains cloaked in a protocol of customer service that is poorly managed. Until DJI sees a financial effect, there may be limited options. And, I am unaware of any suitable alternative options.
