Is Power On Hand Held OK?

I have a question, I've read some people say it's OK to power on the aircraft while hand held. Is that true? On my other gimbals the IMU calibrates gyros on power on and it has to be dead still. The reason I ask is I have a lens filter that hits the ground a few mm on power on when the gimbal initializes and rotates. Once it comes up level I can set it down.

This was discussed with P2 with the gopros and extended Landing gear. One person said it was OK to fire it up and set it down once the gimbal stops. Rather than hacking the landing gear.

Yes.

The gimbal does not calibrate by itself. The calibration only runs when you manually initiate it from the DJI Pilot app. Since you're using a filter, it would be a good idea to calibrate the gimbal with the filter attached.
