Hello All,

Hoping I can get some help here, going crazy!

My P3A randomly (with no App or Firmware updates or Hard Landings) thinks it's a P3P in the DJI GO App, so it fly's but no camera; though, I can still control the gimbal with camera facing up or down with the remote. The gimbal is also level and calibrated.

I have re-installed the DJI GO App, re-installed the firmware (from scratch - log attached), re-synced the remote and aircraft, and everything in between.

I CAN get it to work when I turn the aircraft on with a fresh .bin file of firmware; though, after I shutdown and reboot, it goes back to the SAME PROBLEM. The the indicator lights on the aircraft flash yellow while the battery button flashes red, all while the aircraft fails to shutdown without manually removing the battery.

Try again with a fresh firmware check, works, reboot, same problem...repeat! ...HELP!

Ar you certain that you did not load the P3P firmware? They are the same version numbers but they are different in content. I would re-download from here and try again: ( Scroll down to the very bottom of the page )

DJI Phantom 3 Advanced Accessories & Tips - Phantom Help

Positive...I didn't update any firmware originally since the last update some time ago. The problem only recently started (Saturday to be exact)....and yes, I have re-confirmed the recent firmware downloads are for the P3A.

Hmmm....That's a new one to me. This sounds like there may be a aircraft issue of some type. Only judging by one of the upgrade packet listings in the .txt file that you uploaded. The others appear ok, so this one is a bit off in comparison, however it completed successfully. This is very odd. It could be an intermittent issue someplace. Not sure how to advise you on this one.

Just chiming in to say this is something ive never seen in this forum in my short time here. Watching this thread closely to see what you all find out. Very weird

I wonder what would happen if you actually tried the p3p fw update???

DJI Support (phone) was useless...I operate a business and use the Drone almost daily.

Just ordered a Mavic 2 Zoom, and hope to fix the P3A as a back-up aircraft.

We've seen similar posts a few times over the years with people posting that their AC "thinks" it's something else.
I don't recall that any sort of consistent root cause had been determined in the various cases, though for some reason it is sticking in my head that perhaps a new SD card helped some.
I do see from your LOG_AB file that two different SD cards were used. Did this issue happen to present when a different SD card was used?

Here are a few examples, though they offer little confident help.

Advanced - No Signal - P3A thinks its P3Pand possible firmware issue
FIXED: No App Connection iPad Air 2 - thinks it's a P3S when it's a P3A!
my 4 thinks its a dji 3 professional help
My P4 thinks its a P3

all while the aircraft fails to shutdown without manually removing the battery.
Does it fail to shut down at all, or does it just take longer to shut down if you let it go?
I am asking because if it takes longer it could be data for troubleshooting as can be seen in this post:

Advanced - P3A battery flashes red when turning off/no video

Initially I used the SD card it came with for the firmware update, then never had a problem for over a year. No updates to the APP, no Firmware Updates....but now I think of it, there was a SYSTEM Update for my Android Device! ..??? That was the ONLY thing that changed, the Android SYSTEM Update when I noticed the problem started.

The other firmware "updates" and things were just trouble shooting.

I never let the AC "shutdown" when it wasn't working for longer than a minute or two, perhaps I'll wait longer and see.

I had this problem and had to force reinstall rc firmware. That fixed mine

How do you do that? I put the Firmware on an SD, turned on the AC while pressing the sync-button, waited for the beep, had it do a full reinstall of firmware, still have the same problem.

What did you do for a process?

Just google or youtube the process. There alot of info on it. You hold a series of buttons down at the same time.

This is for the RC firmware, not the Aircraft. The RC must be changed via the app. The SD card is only for the aircraft. Below RC version 1.5 I believe uses an SD card. Do not have the aircraft powered up while installing RC firmware.

Try this
1538335526640.jpg

When I connect the AC to the RC, then open the DJI GO App, it appears as P3P not P3A and I cannot manually select to change it.

The AC fly's fine and reacts to the RC as normal, the gimbal even adjusts responding the to the wheel on the RC, but no camera functionality....as a Photo/Videographer, this is the entire reason I have the Drone...so I need it fixed :-(

There's just no reasoning for it...no hard landings, in a secure and protecting case, worked, shut down, used it another day (NO UPDATES BETWEEN), and now this problem...

With rc and ac on no props running , long press the three bars at top rh corner of the app. What do you see there.
