Being a hobbyist drone pilot actually pays

'What constitutes commercial activity are as irrelevant as the regulations.'
The real issue under Law is 'Public vs Private' activities.
If we are property of the state, then we have no private activities, thus All
activities become Regulatable, ie: Commercial and Recreational activities.
If we are Private individuals, then neither Commerce nor Recreation is
Regulatable, so long as it doesn't harm others.
The issue is: beaurocrats don't know the difference, so will kill you over
minor administrative issues. Even a death sentence is administrative action.

Wow spoke to the hotel manager about flying my drone as I am staying there. Said I will happily take a few pics of the hotel free of charge as I like it here and he can use it for he's site. He kindly gave me 2 free pints [emoji4] what a gentleman. Will take great shots of the hotel for himView attachment 87913

Hah, I pushed the button before I proof read the post. I did mean bartering and your are right about the batterting!

Look at the world we live in Big Al. Me or somebody else making a few bucks under the table is technically illegal but is a drop in the bucket compared to, well, just about anything. And you are wrong about the grey area, EVERYTHING is a grey area. Don't tell me you pay every dime in taxes you owe and never ever go 5 miles over the speed limit. So my few bucks under the table is just fine.

Rationalization.
