The ESC is what beeps. Depending on which one you have, you might hear a '1,2,3,4,5' tone followed by a number of beeps that indicate what battery is hooked up. 3 for 3s, 4 for 4s, etc. You can also use the beep function to calibrate the ESCs (which you don't need to do on DJI ESCs). There are several different sounds you can get out of them ... depending on what you are doing.
I had all mine a little out of whack on my new build and they would chime in at different times. Sounded kinda like an 'a capela' electronic choir. Once calibrated, they all sound at the same time and can fool you into thinking it is coming from one place.
OI Photography said:I've been told (and I think it was from ElGuano, if I'm not mistaken) that the ESC's control the beeps, but it's actually the motors that emit the sound, by causing the bell housings to vibrate at a set frequency (at the command of the ESC).
On a high note I received and installed my Iris Aerial bat wing and landing legs today. Previous all-up-round weight of my 550 with the Neewer FPV skid was 2340 grams. After swapping it out for the new stuff I'm now down to 2160 grams! I think once I add the iOSD mini and my 400mW transmitter I'll still be under the 2400 gram limit. Sweeeet! U.M.[/quote said:Hey U.M., any chance you can post a pic of the Iris Batwing installed? I looked at it on their website but can't figure out what it looks like mounted?

I'm dying to see this also....it looks like you would have the props in view from their website photo but I could be wrong.
Yes, if I place the battery all the way rearward on the top plate it almost counteracts the GoPro/Gimbal being so far forward. The saving grace was the extra weight associated with the Neewer FPV skid I removed was front heavy. If I also mount my TX and iOSD a little rearward it should balance out just fine. I'll also feel better having the battery on top versus slung underneath.FangsCPO said:Wow! If you've got the GoPro that far forward, you are going to have to do some reconfiguring on the back end to provide some balance....right?
