Time to upgrade my IOS tablet...not sure latest generation compatible with V1 PRO.

Hello friends,
Due to battery issues with my IPAD 5 (MP2F2TY iOS 16.7.10), i'm evaluating a battery replacement or a new tablet.
I know that USB-C are not compatible with the GL300F RC (tried with my PH4 PRO V1,) so latest generation with a lightning cable is the 9th.
But I read on another thread that can be also IOS version issue.

So i need suggestions on what is the last manifactured iPAD that can be purchased to be used with a PH4PRO v1.

From my reaserch probably a 9th gen (lates with lightning cable) and with an iOS < than v18.

Is this correct?

I recently picked up a phantom 4 pro (v1) and when trying to connect my iPad mini with USB-C it won’t connect to the controller. I have tried with my iPhone and it connects to the controller and drone fine, it’s just the iPad that doesn’t work. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm still using a ipad mini 5 with lightning connection. Not the brightest but with a shade attached it works well even in sun, and fair priced nowadays. Never had a overheating problem in Florida summers and no cpu overloads either. I also have a 5th gen ipad (9.5") for occasional use that works just as well.

For the V1 PRO it is mandatory to use the latest lightning to USB version of ipad mini/AIR/PRO. USB type-c works only with PRO v2 version.
