The Mavic: to Prop Guard or Not To Prop Guard

A recent release involves the Mavic which brings back a more basic question: Do you think prop guards are a good addition for drones? These prop guard works well because of its design. The cage effect makes the props virtually protected, not to mention the protection it can have towards your fingers. The cost can be a bit expensive. Then again, isn't anything good worth the money?

Wow that looks way to heavy and will really bring down the battery flight time. And it looks like it has metal.... Bad idea with the compass and all

Some valid points for sure. However, it may be that that is taken into account and therefore not that big a deal. Then again, you fly smart, you don't need prop guards.
