Still waiting on those Walkera 5200s

My Walkera finally arrived -- suffers a lot of voltage sag in a Phantom 1. It may have 5200mAH capacity but it doesn't do the same job as a PV 5200mAH battery.
My charger says it took 2700mAh to recharge it... From where I landed the P1 at 10.6V. So -- that fits with it having capacity but a lower C rating than a PV battery.

That's a shame...

Back to trying to find a battery equivalent to the PV battery!
2700? Did you mean 4700?

My findings are the same as yours. Tons of voltage sag, and a drop to 11.0v within 5-6 minutes of flight. Strangely, as saggy as it is, it doesn't sag much more when used on my hex; a single battery still gets ~16 min when pushed.

Because of this, I've been pushing these batteries hard. Landing at 10.45 to 10.5v (and they still recover to 11.2). Weird and disconcerting if you don't want your multi to fall out of the sky, but I haven't registered any increase in internal resistance or damage from running them aggressively.

No -- 2700! It was only half discharged it seems... I have a battery impedance measurer designed for lead acid cells. I'l call the company I think and see if it's ok to use on a lipo -- it should be.

Speaking of cobbling together, this is the result of tonight's solder-and-code-fest. Programmable LEDs tied into the NAZA status LED:

Where did you get those fancy circular LED's, Mr. ELGuano...? Do you have a link?

I finished the mod tonight. Surprisingly, it still works! I even got it up in the air.

The LED rings are Adafruit Neopixel rings. the 16-LED version is almost perfect to fit around the 2212 motors:

They're driver-integrated, fully addressable, 24-bit color. 800kHz. I like 'em a lot.

WOW! That looks really COOL! Very steady too... Smooth flight... Very nice, ELGuano...

PS: Thanks for the LED link info...
