Smartphone phone calls during flight

I have a Samsung S4. When using it as a monitor/controller, does the smartphone take a call? I'm guessing that it doesn't .. could be a bummer.
It will if you don't put it on airplane mode-- Skype works very well on the IPad when you are flying if you don't put it on airplane mode.

Opps-- Facetime too!!

Phone definitely picks up calls, notifications etc during its use as a monitor but its a BIG disturbance. Better go for airplane mode or use tablet with no notifications and phone/ message apps.

Flying needs full attention, keep all distractions away.

As remark, on ios it is better to shutdown bluetooth absolutely, wifi is suggested to shutdown, but it is better to keep switched on data 3G/4G, because for some reason, GO App, due to background map download, can have problem with live video refresh speed. This happen also with cached maps.
