You use a standard 2200 mAh battery?Glockindahaus said:To be more specific, I used an XT60 split cable inside. The red external tray is for the second battery. She rides a little heavy at low altitude but I get a solid 10 minutes.gardenroute said:How, can you show how you got there 2 batteries?Glockindahaus said:...Dual battery XT60 inside...
You use a standard 2200 mAh battery?
One inside and one outside. I had always seeking the perfect setup for my Phantom, who now weighs about 1200 grams.
I ordered these CF wings for external battery installation that will hopefully compatible with my configuration.
There I could use a larger capacity, of course, with respect to the total weight.
DeweyAXD said:I find the best dual batt setup with my kit is to use a stock (or equiv dimensioned) 2200mah in the cage under the body and then squeeze a NanoTech 2250mah into the Phantom. A tight fit but if you mod the battery door it works (which you have to for any dual batt setup generally). This gives me 12mins flight in light winds (that is useful flight time, not just static hovering) before the first red lights appear and 14mins before the cell warning buzzers go off. Total weight 1250g (although I have flown with a 75g GTU10 added too) and had no issues.
I think those CF shoulders aren't a bad way to do dual batt (clever and simple design) but personally I'd want a couple of my batt cages or some kind of stopper to secure them (so they don't slide forward/back out of the velcro straps). You'd need to have matching weight batts too so as not to mess up the balance down the centre line.
So many ways to do the same thing though which is whats fun. Trying and testing!
DeweyAXD said:Yeah not too much trouble at all now I have the base design. Just need to know what the battery dimensions are and a picture of that battery itself and it wouldn't take much work.
5000mah is gonna be one weighty 'mo fo' though on a Phantom. Quick look at Hobbyking:
2200mah 3s - 105 x 33 x 24mm - 188g
5000mah 3s - 146 x 50 x 25mm - 412g
