RTH Altitude Definition

If the Home Location is set at the top of a hill and the drone executes a RTH at the bottom of the hill, is the return altitude determined relative to the Home Location or relative to where the RTH was initiated? This can make a big difference in setting the RTH parameters.

It's relative to the takeoff location -- which should be the home point if you do not reset it again after takeoff.

Thanks, so it understands decreases in altitude relative to the HP?

Yes. If you fly below the takeoff point, your altitude will change to a negative value.
