Problems Using DV Viewer

So I just started looking at Log Data using the DV Viewer in DJI Assist 2. I found it to be a pretty useful tool. While exploring the program, I closed all of the various windows/tabs. Now all I have is a blank screen and I cant do anything. There are no menu bars available and no matter where I click there are no options presented to do anything. I've tried relaunching the app, even tried reinstalling the DJI assist app. Every time I launch the DV Viewer, I just get the the blank app.

While I'm doing this, my P4P is turned on and connected to my PC. I can see the DAT files in an Explorer window but I can't do anything with them in the app.

Any suggestions?

I'm trying to renew this post as I have not had any response to it. It seems that I'm the only person that has experienced this? The first time I used the DV Viewer it was awesome - so much data available. I closed all of the windows inside of the view and now there nothing. No menu bar to bring up windows to view data - just the blank screen shown in the screenshot above. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app (several times) and it always defaults to this blank screen with no options or menus whatsoever....
 
I’m continuing to write about this in the hope that someone is following and has some input. I wanted to add that I installed the DJI Assistant on another computer and it works fine and that it did at one time work on my main computer. I did something when I closed all of the windows in the app. Even reinstalling the app results in nothing but a blank gray screen as seen in the screenshot I shared in the original post.
 
I wish I could give a definite answer, but I can only suggest the software has either written some keys in the windows registry which are not removed or do not change when you remove/reinstall the software; or possibly keeping some files in the %APPDATA% system folder.

I'll install DV Viewer tonight, have a play and let you know if I can replicate.

Thanks Tom. Just to be clear: What I did to induce this problem was when I used the DV Viewer for the first time, In my exploration of the program, I closed every "window" in the app. It hasn't worked since - even after removal and reinstallation.
 
And also Tom: I don’t think the DV Viewer is a stand alone application. It’s part of the DJI Assistant 2 for Phantom application

Quite right, the DV Viewer is part of the DJI Assistant 2; the executable is in the Assistant folder.
My drone is at home, so I've not gotten further than the initial screen, but I can run Viewer.exe standalone.

Before anything, I found the keys geometry and windowState in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DJI\DataViewer 2.0
also the same keys in HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1429741924-2076723255-311576647-1370\Software\DJI\DataViewer 2.0
(amongst others)

I am pretty confident those same keys have been saved in your windows registry, they do not necessarily get removed when the program is uninstalled.

I exported those keys from regedit to my documents so I could re-import them later.

To test, I closed the window 'Curves' in the viewer, closed the program and then loaded again.
Sure enough, the Curves window was still absent, so I closed the program.
I reimported the keys from my saved reg file for HKEY_USERS above and loaded the viewer again.
The viewer appeared with all windows open again.

I went further and closed all the viewer windows, some I had to close by removing the tick from the right-click menu.
The right click menu does allow you to put the windows back on, but you no longer have access to that menu when all the windows have been closed; clearly the state you are in now.
So I had a completely blank window too. I reimported the same reg file and all the windows are back again.

In an ideal world, I would just send you my reg file and it would fix it for you, but it's not that simple.

Have you used regedit before? A simple option may be to uninstall DJI Assistant 2 and use regedit to delete the whole DataViewer 2.0 tree from the locations you find them (Edit-Find in regedit to search for "DataViewer 2.0").
They will then be recreated when you re-install the software.

I'll attach my HKEY_USERS reg file for reference.

I concur with your comment about the DV viewer being able to be launched from the Assistant folder without the Assistant app running. I think that my statement about it not being a stand alone app came from my experience being that in the normal course of things, the Assistant 2 app is launched and then the DV viewer is accessed through that app after the drone is connected. In either case, my issues still exist and I still look forward to attempting your resolution this weekend.

I used your suggestion and it worked perfectly. I have been trying to resolve this issue for a couple of months. DJI wasn't even able to give me a solution. If you didn't live so far away, I'd buy you a beer!
