Hi I'm having a problem with my p2 I can't get the live feed from the camera to my phone , won't connect can still fly with general info but picture of what camera see . Any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix

OK we in the same boat then as mine is like your's . I don't fly mine much anymore and after letting it sit for awhile it did as your's is .
Don't know if it's the extender which I have a RE700 or the board in the camera . Have seen lot's with that issue but J Dot is my go to man so maybe when he logs on he can help you .

Hey guys,
I have been researching a Lot On this here and other sites, YouTube, and web in general.

People have found several solutions!
As I claim, usually board 3 fails ( either update ( extender )) in app causing a failure ( either firmware conflict, or circuit failure ) ? Not sure

I know when I swap board 3 it comes to life again!

But others claim they have had success with several different plans of attack!

1) the procedure on which you turn stuff on
Turn on Tx & extender
WAIT 45 seconds
Turn bird on
Then connect as usual!

2) deleting the app, and reinstalling it!
( some claim that phone iOS or android updates cause older apps to fail, as they were not designed to work with newer phone updates )
Either reinstalling or updating app helped?
I've not researched this yet!

3) reloading FC200 firmware to camera via SD CARD! Has helped!

4) extender going completely dead from sitting and looses memory ( as internal memory battery dies )
Mac addy needs to be reloaded
( sometimes takes several tries )
( if you no longer have your Mac addy or box )
Here is a video on how to retrieve it

5) preview setting
( lowering your preview settings has helped some folks )

6) internal camera antenna lead coming loose, sounds weird, but has happened, simply plugging it back in, fixes the issue

7) board 3 fails
( caused by forced EXTENDER UPGRADE )
Causing this board to fail ( either programming conflict, or circuit failure? )

8) turning device off completely ( tablet or phone ) and rebooting device

9) reverting app
( to an app that is compatible with your current version of phone or smart device firmware )

10) white cable loose or not fully plugged in

The cable supplies power ( red & black wires ), and also telemetry ( green & yellow wires )
All inside the big white cable with the headphone jack on the End, that plugs to your camera unit
The video feed is wireless, all inside camera
Most cameras with no video feed can still take pictures and video ( manually with the button on camera ) quick push for picture, press and hold for video , and can be viewed from SD CARD. Just no feed?

I personally test each board on a working camera I have ( that I use for this exact problem ) it consists of just boards no outside shell. I just test the boards one at a time until it fails, then you have your problem board, and can swap it for a good one! Problem is, board 3 is hard to find now a days!

Solution, if in fact you have a bad board,
1) replace the camera unit ( pretty pricey )
2) find a replacement board
( I find most from repair shops )

Repair shops a lot of the time don't have the time or means to run diagnostics on each part, as it can be VERY time consuming, so instead they just put a new camera on, and send it back as fixed!
Now
Here is the exciting part
The old cameras go into bins, boxes and some unfortunately in the trash!
So
What you want is a crashed camera, in this instance, the camera unit was damaged ina crash, and has a broken lens, or housing, or etc? But the boards inside are still good! These are the BEST! As you can get them cheap or free!, then just take the board you need to fix your camera unit!
There are HUNDREDS of repair shops around, and not just drone repair shops, remember these are flying CAMERAS!
So you now have
1) Drone repair shops ( dji certified or non dji certified )
As well as
2) Personal repair shops ( people who fix them but are not liscenced or a repair vender ) more of a hobby, either to help friends or just for fun
And also
3) camera repair shops ( here is where I find most of my parts ) as they don't do a lot of drone camera repairs, so parts are worthless to them, especially damaged cameras, or even better, they do not have the Mac addy to make it work, or don't know how to retrieve it or just don't care!

The last one I hit in Tampa ( hour north of me ) camera repair shop I called who had a camera egg, I could have for free, I ended up digging through 4 bins of drone stuff, the guy said take what I want as he was going to throw it away, but luckily he kept it all! I got 3 cameras, several esc' sand motors, as well as smaller items like led covers, landing gear, gimbal mounts, wiring, and 2 NAZA units! Honestly a lot of the stuff was not phantom, rather bigger dji crafts, or other brands, which I could not use!

So
Pick up the phone, search out repair shops, and start asking around, for damaged items etc. also many members here are also repair centers ( I won't mention them here ) but put the word out, they will reply if they can help

I have 12 repair shops all within 1 hour from me, as well as a great friend in cali , I stay in contact with them all, at least once a month! I also have a couple friends ( members here ) who have helped me greatly in the past with parts, and hard to find items! So the parts are out there, just takes a bit of searching to find them!

Hope this helps
J Dot
