Ok .. Got it . so basically i am only checking to see if the wires are ok at this point correct? Any good way to check the board it self?

you can not check the board , only the wires.
the only way to check the board is to connect it to another naza.
if you realy want to check it your self then read this topic on rc groups

And you can check if the gps board get power ( voltage )
put needles beside the wires and check with the voltmeter or there is power
I got this result
red - brown 5.50 volt
red - yellow 1 2.47 volt
red - yellow 2 2.35 volt
yellow 1 - yellow 2 0.11 volt
yellow 1 - brown 3.04 volt
yellow 2 - brown 3.15 volt
Watch out that you do not cause a short circuit between the needles or you wil fry the naza or/and gps
