Hi, I have a huge problem. I had about 400 video in AVI and virus attacked my computer and all videos destroyed in b5bd file. I tried all sorts of programs to fix files to avi, but all programs find b5bd files and ''fix'' them in b5bd file, not in avi file. Does anybody know how to get them back in the avi because it's very important.
Any information is helpful, thank you very much.

What does "b5bd file" mean? If the files were simply renamed, try renaming them to something w/ an .avi extension and see if they will play.

If you were asked to pay a ransom the files are likely encrypted and you won't get them back without the key, unless they used a really bad cipher with a weak key which is doubtful at this point.

Download a programme called freemake. From here you can convert any file to any other file. Very powerful tool and it's free. You can even make one file (let's just say MP3) and convert it to an Xbox file. It's really that powerful. Give that a shot first. I use it all the time and no problems at all with it

What is a 3-2-1 Backup Strategy?
A 3-2-1 strategy means having at least 3 total copies of your data, 2 of which are local but on different mediums (read: devices), and at least 1 copy offsite. We’ll use “kitten.jpg” as an example for this scenario. Kitten.jpg lives on your computer at home, it was a picture that you took of your cat in 2012. That’s one copy of the data. You also have an external hard drive that you use for backing up your computer. As part of your backup process, that external hard drive will also hold a copy of kitten.jpg. That’s a second copy, on a different device or medium. In addition that external hard drive, you also have an online backup solution. The online backup continuously scans your computer and uploads your data offsite to a datacenter. Kitten.jpg is included in this upload, and that becomes the third copy of your data. Or keep another backup at a friend's house or your workplace

I had Freemake Video Converter and it was great and when I installed new windows on pc and when I saw download freemake again, then the problems started with these viruses. I'll try to find some good link where I can download it again

Programs that are used to convert videos can not read these files, I tried with them several. I also tried with several programs that are used to recover files but none could read the file, so I'll try to find a company that deals with saving and recovering files from broken hdd or something like that and i hope they have good programs for that and that they will be able to return my files somehow.
Thank you all very much, really appreciate your help.
If they restore my things, that will be great, but if not it will be my school(which is not supposed to happen).

Like I said, "The file headers are damaged, sorry to tell you that there's no way to recover it."
