Hello All,

I received a refurbished P4 from DJI on 11/28/16. I have 7 days to request a return/refund.
I'm familiar with quads. I have several including a H502s and 501s so I've used GPS also.

I have gone thru a few complete tutorials of DJI GO before I tried it out.

All the settings looked ok. 12 or more sats etc.

1. The biggest problem is it doesn't hover well, but still controlable.
I've only taken it up about 10 feet. If it points to the direction it took off from (East)
it responds to throttle and forword/back/L/R sticks.

If I yaw north, south or west only the throttle stick responds and I get a
constant 2 beeps per second warning from the transmitter with no indication
on the screen of whats going on. When I turn East again the beeping stops
and both sticks work.

2. The camera has about a 15 second (yes, 1/4 of a minute) lag. The lag time is
not in the physical movement of cam, but in how long it takes for the image to
be transmitted to the screen.

I have to let DJI know by Monday 12/5/16 on what to do. DJI has been very difficult to
communicate with in a timely fashion. I want to let them know as soon as I can.

Thanks for any help.
Bill

Did you calibrate the remote controller and IMU before flying? If not, do both of those calibrations and see if that makes a difference.

What kind of mobile device are you using?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using a sony xperia z3v. I got it because it was on the compatibility list.

Yes, I did calibrate the remote controller, the IMU and compass.

Seems an odd problem not to mention the camera lag.

Are you running the latest firmware? If so or if upgrading the firmware does not fix those issues, I'd recommend you send it back and get it replaced.

Are you triggering the camera using he shutter button on the controller or are you using the App? Perhaps if there is no lag using the shutter or video button on the controller , then this may indicate a APP problem.

ad1 Do you test the P4 in the free space? It looks like the obstacle avoidance system stops the movement.

It's not the photos that are the problem. It's the live video feed. But when
I do trigger the cam for vids and pics it has always been from the controller,
not the phone. It still maybe an app problem tho.

Thanks,
Bill

Good point, but there was nothing to trigger that. Does the beeping indicate
an obstacle?

Thanks,

Checked the firmware and it was up to date.

Thanks,

Thanks for the help you guys, I think I'm in business!

Tried a little old android 4.4 and the video lag is only about a second.
DJIGO runs too slow on it to fly. The Sony xperia v3 is 5.5. I tried to upgrade and downgrade the OS with no luck. Don't know if that's its trouble.

The OVS was the cause of the control problem I was having. I didn't realise
how sensitive it was especially at the low speeds I used. P4 works well now.

Too cold and windy for anything but that short test flight today but at least
things look good now.

Thanks again.
Bill
