RTH

I’ve just had another thought I flew my old broken camera less drone yesterday, it is the same model as the new one, and it behaved perfectly. It was about 400 mtrs away at a height of 100 mtrs hit RTH and it came back landed very close to where it took off.
Question is can I download all info from that one and transfer it to the new one?? Just a thought!

I have not a clue what your thought is.

I need,
#1 "Are you using a PC on this forum if so, Windows or Mac?"
#2 Can you provide a screen shot of where these RTH settings are, what is set on mobile device.

If by 'download all info' you mean firmware, you need to determine which firmware version EACH DRONE is using before attempting to upgrade or downgrade existing versions. Adjusting the firmware should be a LAST RESORT.

I tend to agree with @RodPad about the RTH settings being in question on the mobile device.

Post #6 by @Meta4 should be your first choice in determining the issue. Flight data logs tell it all.

Its been about a day for me, I still can't think of anything you could copy and past to another device. Firmware wouldn't do anything but add more complications on information that still hasn't been shared.

I'm going to bail on this thread, unless the OP posts some data or facts.

Yep, the Phantom 4 firmware is complicated.......especially the Phantom 4 RTK model firmware. All sorts of limitations and guidelines on that garbage.

The Data Logs (post #6) is what is needed to troubleshoot this issue any further.

Hi Rod been busy today, not sure if I mentioned I flew the broken drone which as far I can see is identical to my new one it flew perfectly so what I’m trying to do tomorrow is download the data from the broken one onto my windows laptop top and then upload it onto the new one, never done anything like it before I thinks it’s worth a try.

I thinks it’s worth a try.
1. What you want to do can't be done.
2. It wouldn't help anyway. The incident wouldn't have been caused by some weird corruption of firmware.

Post #7 suggests that when you fly the drone, it still does this.
Post the flight data from one of the flights where this has happened.

Hi I think you misunderstood, my old broken drone fly perfectly but has no camera my new replacement is the same model. When I connected it to my original controller and all is well it flys exactly as commanded apart from RTH which when set climbs to about 100 Mtrs and it’s there, I have no control unless I cancel RTH and fly it back manually.

Drones are not like hard drives on a computer. You cannot just copy one drone’s files to another one.

To properly copy all needed information you need the proper files and the boot loader program to access the Flight Controller. Unless you are an authorized service center for DJI it is unlikely you will ever get access to the boot loader for your P4.
