OK this will make all you old hands laugh. I have just got a Phantom 3 professional. I assume that when transporting it the plastic gimbal protector should always be in place. I also assume that the little white piece of foam with Remove Before Flight on it can safely be ignored?

Thanks!

The plastic gimbal lock should be on when you're transporting your Phantom. You should remove the foam block and toss it -- or pack it back up in your Phantom box if you like to hang onto things like that :)

That plastic gimbal protector is a horrible design. It rarely stays on. I have a hard shell backpack. Noticed it put a lot of pressure on the gimbal when I packed it in the case. Without it the camera lays nicely against the foam . I tossed mine.
