Hi guys,
I recently received my Taranis X9D and X8R receiver which I intend to use with my Phantom 2.
I am having no luck with Binding the controller to the X8R...

Is ther anyone out there who has experience or this setup?
Perhaps point me in the right direction?
I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

1. Turn on the Tx, ensure the right model is selected by pressing the menu button once.
2. Press the page button to enter menu page 2 (of 13). Scroll down to the ‘Internal RF’ settings.
3. Ensure mode is set to D16, channel range to CH1-8, Receiver 01. Stay on this menu in anticipation of step 5 below.
4. Power on the rx whilst depressing the f/s button on it.
5. Back to the Tx - you now select [Bind] and a beep should indicate that the rx and Tx have successfully bound
6. Power of Rx and then Tx. Power on Tx and then Rx
7. Green LED should be showing on the Rx indicating the bind process was successful

Also would love an altimeter.

Easiest way would probably be to add the iOSD mini to the Phantom, but you could also just add a FrSky variometer which would show the height on your Taranis' display: http://www.shop.skywardhobbies.com/FrSk ... AS-02H.htm

They also make a lower-precision model for a few dollars less, but I've found that one can have variances of 6 ft or more.

I have the IOSD Mini already and love the data on the BlackPearl.
Although, when the video goes out of range, I have no info on the Phantom which I believe has an enormous further range, but no way to accurately learn the actual range.
Here is a list of my complete setup.

ImmersionRC 600mw 5.8ghz FPV Transmitter to send signal from copter to ground: $70 (I already have an extra one of these and could sell it to you at the same price I bought it for, still in the box brand new)
iOSD Mini from DJI to see on screen information for FPV flying: $70

Plug and Play cable for Phantom 2 to iOSD Mini and ImmersionRC FPV: $21

Black Pearl 7inch Monitor with built in Receiver: $200

Power Supply for Monitor to charge battery: $6

5.8 GHz Cloverleaf Whip Antenna (RHCP) (Single, Right Angle) for FPV TX - $30

5.8 GHz Cloverleaf Whip Antenna (RHCP) (Single, Straight) for FPV RX - $30

Monitor Mount for Transmitter from RaveCreative - $34

RF coaxial coax adapter SMA female to RP-SMA male (this is for one of the antennas for your black pear reciever) - $4.50

DJI Phantom 2 Case XB-DJI-P2 - $198

All this really makes a pretty nice setup already, but seeing room or need for other data.

I'm wondering how to adjust the gains settings of the phantom in flight using the Taranis?
Also would love to set up actual flight plans..or modes, where the aircraft will fly preset flight plans..
Are you or anyone familiar with this?

Thanks
