Arrgh!!

I purchased a used P4P+v2 and the controller has a built in screen. I'm not happy with the built in screen and want a more accessible interface so I purchased a controller that does not have a screen that I thought would be compatible and I could use a tablet.

BUT. I was WRONG. I actually have a P4P+, not the version 2. So... my newly acquired ebay GL300L will not sync with my drone. I feel deflated.

Can someone confirm some stuff?

WM331A is P4P+ (NOT v2.0)
If I buy a GL300F, will it sync with my WM331A?

I'm quite certain this is right. But the Phantom 4 world seems like a maze. The logo on my P4P+ is silver color.

Next... does anyone have any suggestions about what I can/should do. Or does anyone want to co-miserate in purchasing equipment that they didnt end up needing? I hoped to keep costs low.....but..... I'm finding that is easier said than done.

The nice thing about the V2 was that it worked with the Smart Contoller , that I found was the only advantage.

Phantomrain.org
Gear to fly in the Rain. Land on the River.

1. The Plus sign (+) only refers to the controller with a built in screen, not the drone itself.
2. A GL300F will work with your Phantom4 Pro with an Android or Apple phone, pad, etc. . Least expensive solution.

Alternatively, I have my backup Phantom 4 Pro V2 for sale. With or without the Smart Controller in addition to the correct GL300L remote.
The V2 only works with the GL300L remote, and is also the only Phantom that works with the Smart controller.
That is because V2 is the only Phantom with Occusync, better video, better range etc.
The GL300L will NOT work with any other Phantom

as to post #3 above, the V2 has a LOT of advantage over the V1. Occusync, improved ESCs and props for quieter operation, better video and range , smart controller etc.

And V2 has built-it RID, where the V1 requires a separate RID module.

It is quite a maze of compatibility.
I came across this table a while back and I have referred back to it many times. I have it bookmarked.
If you search for dji-phantom-remote-controller-compatibility-chart “phantomhelp” 1058 you should be able tI find the link.
I’d post the link here except I believe posting links to external sites not permitted. I’ve attached screengrabs. (Admins don’t beat me.)
