Well I purchased my second p3 a few days ago, did my updates and calibrations, flew it for 10 minutes and then things went absolutely haywire. I lost control of it, it started acting like it had a mind of its own. RTH feature was activated but It never returned to home, instead it just went off on its own. I even tried to take control of it in ATTI but it was absolutely a lost cause. The last visual I had on it was it blazing across the sky and out of view, flight logs showing it descending at 26mph with a forward speed of nearly 80 mph. It certainly did not crash where the last flight info was recorded however. I have searched for so long for my drone but I am ready to give up. I experienced speed errors during my flight, magnetic interference, and several severe battery voltage deviations (not exactly in that order). Please can anyone kindly help me evaluate this log and give me direction as where to maybe look for my drone or if I even have any case to contact DJI support over this? Below is the flight Log. THANK YOU for any input.

That looks like a scary flight and not your typical first flight.
The errors start at 46% and from then on the flight record is full of them.
I can't see any obvious indications of anything that you've done that could have caused this.
It looks like the sensors or flight controller had a breakdown and there wasn't much you could do about it.
With a normal flight the flight record usually gives enough clues to show a likely crash site but yours was in atti mode, ignoring its GPS and traveling at 66 mph when the flight record ends.

I think DJI support should have an easy time looking at the flight record and determining that this was a hardware error.
Go to the flight record in the app and click on the cloud icon to synch the file so DJI can read it.
Then go to DJI support here: DJI Support - Here for You
Click on Online Support and then click on the Phantom icon.
Tell them the story and they'll look at the flight record and sort things out.
Good luck.

This Drone was purchased brand new from Best Buy in the US the very day prior.
I can not tell what was happened to your bird, but DJI would definitely look into this for you if it was not operator mistake.

At one point, it was going home but distance from home was jumped up and back down.

That's a mess Unless you completely lost your mind when you started that thing up I would say DJI is on the hook for this one

The last visual I had on it was it blazing across the sky and out of view, flight logs showing it descending at 26mph with a forward speed of nearly 80 mph. It certainly did not crash where the last flight info was recorded however
Based on the direction it was heading, it looks like it probably crashed in the following location:

CrashArea.jpg

Thanks for posting that ! I have searched the area around there with no luck however. Theoretically speaking, if it hit the ground at the trajectory we last saw on the data log would there even be anything left to salvage?

It's probably going to be pretty banged up if you find it. However, you'd at least then have something to return to Best Buy or send to DJI. I'm guessing Best Buy will refer you to DJI. And, since it doesn't appear to be a case of user error, there is a good chance DJI will cover it under warranty.

This is maybe a long shot, but you dont think that there is any chance bestbuy would be any help here would they? I only ask this because I am a BestBuy Elite member, not sure if that even means anything though haha. For some reason I just find it hard to believe that DJI will send me a new drone without a crashed one, I only say this because I have always heard fairly negative things about DJI support, I have no experience with them yet but I am hoping for the best.... I sent my email to support with my log yesterday.. guess we will see what happens, still waiting to hear from them.

DJI's poor support is mostly an internet myth perpetuated by people saying that they have heard that DJI support is bad.
Here's something new for you that you might not have heard.
DJI have replaced lost Phantoms before when the flight record looked like yours.
I know that because I've had communication with the owners.
And also because one of them was mine.

That is very encouraging to hear that. Thank you! Any idea how timely DJI customer service is?

Did you have any accessories attached to the Phantom when you flew it? Or was it 100% out of the box stock?
