Ok, Got P3S yesterday, updated software.........

Everything went fine, but how do you format a new card in the P3S, just a format in a card reader or do you have some secret way of doing it in the bird. Have read manual and underlined important stuff.

BTW what is that beeping noise for the first 15 minutes, yikes!

Still bad weather so will do the sim for a few days.

My only drone experience is the Syma 5C which does have its issues, could never get it to balance and hoover without some stick pressure.

Any reason not to use the "home lock " instead of "P"?

I always format in DJI GO. You can find Format SD Card in the menu of the App. The additional beeping is most likely the battery firmware update.
I always fly in "P" mode, you can switch to home lock if you get too far away and need it to come back to you, just go to home lock and pull the stick back toward you and it will return no matter what orientation you are in.
