Can anyone make heads or tails of this? I'm not sure what "SUBMITTED_ATCFC" means? Is this just telling me that they've forwarded it on to be looked at now?

Thanks in advance!

At least you ar getting a response! Submitted mine in September and nothing. Going to resubmit with a slightly different location and see if I get anything now that they are actually working them.

Bet "Submitted- ATCFC" means that it has been forwarded to the atc office responsible for the airspace you are requesting authorization for. Good luck!

It says " Status - submitted". It means, "We got your request. We'll get back to you."

A good rule of thumb is to submit AT LEAST 90 days before you want to fly.

According to Jason Schappert, out of around 1000 requests submitted so far, the FAA has only approved 81.

Here's a link to Jason. Be sure and watch the video. Even if you're not a customer, he offers some info on WHY so many were rejected.

The link: Approved Part 107 Waiver/Airspace Authorization | Remote Pilot 101

I too got the same type of email last Thursday. IIRC I submitted the Class D airspace authorization request 3-4 days earlier.

Ahhh, Jason Schappert - good stuff. His on-line videos & lessons helped me out many years ago when I was studying for my PPL.

I received a similar email this morning. However, I received an approval last week. Have not submitted another one. So kind of weird.

Interesting, I submitted this for Class C Airspace in early October, so maybe they're finally getting around to it. I did receive a "we got your submission" e-mail right after it, and now I've gotten this, but I haven't heard a thing on my flying over humans waiver so who knows? Thanks, all, for your responses!

So on/about Oct 30th I submitted a Class D airspace authorization and on Nov 3rd I got the email which has Status: SUBMITTED, also sent to an @dot.gov address.

Today (11/15) I get another one Status: SUBMITTED_ATCFC, also sent to an @faa.gov address. The person for that address is an Air Traffic Control Specialist on the Emerging Technologies Team in D.C.

I submitted my Class E request last Wednesday and got the second email today ( and that's with a 3 day weekend in the middle)! I'll race you LOL. B interesting to see how much longer it takes.

Yeah, these started a couple of weeks ago. They're finally giving some feedback, even if it is a bit cryptic. If you have multiple requests in, you have no idea which one it refers to. Like others said, it's progress and better than the black hole we originally had.

As I remember you get them for submission, transmitted to ATC, and approved or denied.
