Thank you. I hope the posts help.

My apologies for not replying sooner. We have been on holiday for two weeks in Wales and had foul weather so no flying.

I will report back if the weather allows flying in the next decade. One is beginning to get slightly miffed

I went down the same road as you and ended up doing this:

Just ordered Hoodman Aviator Sun Shade...

I hope it fits okay. I asked them the question "Can it allow the plug to be inserted into my Nexus tablet?", but never heard back from them so I made my own - yet to be tested.

I tried out the modified sun hood but it was overcast and I could see the screen very well. Things are looking up.

The real test will be in sunlight though. Maybe in the next month or so I might - hopefully - see the sun.
