New Phantom 3 Today / Firmware Question

So my new Phantom 3 Professional is coming in today. I most likely will need to update buth the bird and the controller to 1.8. My question is, do we need to do this in increments, i.e. download 1.6 first and update and then 1.8? or just download the one 1.8 file and update both the bird and the controller?

Just download the latest, so 1.8. Are you familiar with the update process? If not check out this video:

I confirm that you can step from 1.1.x to 1.1.8 with no problem. I've just done on the new bird...
