Started a new thread since I have replaced all four motors with brand new DJI parts and I'm still getting the ESC error when attempting to start. This is a drone I haven't used for a couple years and when I started it the motors spun. during the process of trying to troubleshoot I accepted the upgrade firmware notice in the DJI app and now I don't know what to do. I've attempted several times to update the firmware to 1.11.30 but it doesn't update. I've tried to download and do it again and still nothing.

ps The last thing I tried to do is to downgrade to 1.9.6 because that's the version my controller is at eventhough the aircraft is 1.11.20 and it isn't changing firmware.

It is unfortunate that the addition of the other three motors didn't correct the ESC issue.

So, your aircraft firmware is at 1.11.20........and it fails to downgrade to 1.09.6. You realize there is a firmware version between those two mentioned above. That is 1.10.90.

1.11.0030 .......'(unofficial version to 'fix' 1.11.0020)
1.11.0020.........caused ESC errors.
1.10.90
1.09.60

@captainmilehigh,

Is this version I tried to find?
If so I will try again, if that is correct version, I will find it!

All are available on Phantomhelp.com firmware archive except for the 'unofficial version 1.11.0030. It was never officially released by DJI.

After that, DJI stopped updating and supporting the P3Pro. Kinda' makes ya' wonder if somehow DJI knew that they screwed up. *but that is just speculation on my part*

It has been my understanding that firmware updates or downgrades must be done in sequential order, or they won't complete correctly.

I'm installing it right now. I created a txt file called debug and it tricked the aircraft into doing the install.

@Pablodrone,
Are saying you found the 1.11.0030, If you did I would really like to have a copy for other members in the future, if works or not. 👍

@Oso

Thanks, I got lost on the three of @Pablodrone
I don't even want to investigate myself.

Somewhere the twist was the "0030" and the "30".?

Anyways, your posts always impress me. 👍

Thanks It appears I got lost in all these posts.
I'm sure that every one that has been involved, wants to know if you got it or not. 👌

No pressure from me, I got a twisted humor.
A long time friend Russ, in front of maybe 5 people said to me some kind of question, Russ said he just likes to F with people.
I kept thinking about that Statement, after awhile I started noticing what I do with other people. I Love it!!
I get goofy at times, I will deleted this if anybody has an issue with it.

The real answer is "it's complicated". But since you had 1.11.20 before, and 1.11.30 differs only in one module, and that's the only version you tried (is it?), so.. that is almost certainly correct in your specific case.

Generally, "FW version" in these drones is a derivative concept. The AC consist of modules, and each module has its own FW with its own version. These are the "real" versions.

Ways to figure out really what's up:
* Check upgrade log, the so called "AB" log. No, that's most likely not the log you found by yourself. There are forum posts about where to get the "AB" log. Any newly generated "AB" log does contain previous updates as well.
* Use `comm_serialtalk.py` to query module for its version. I won't get into details as this is beyond your current abilities.

Can someone confirm that when the fw is upgraded to 1.11.30 it appears in the About tab of the app as version 1.11.20+
You need to downgrade the drone's firmware, need to use a fan while doing the downgrade and if you want to install the latest after successfully resolving the esc error to go away you can update to latest firmware.

Just an FYI you can find all the FW's using Dankdronedownloader tool.
