Limited flight using IPod touch

Soooooo, this kind of has been making me mad. The new firmware update states that if you are not connected to the app during flight, you will be limited to a certain amount of feet for flight distance. But if you are using an iPod touch, how are you supposed to be connected to wifi (so you can connect to the app) and connected to the drone at the same time?!?! Please help me figure this out

Just log into your app before you go out to fly.

You do not need to be connected to Wi-Fi ( Internet) to fly. Just start the app, while not connected to the AC, but are connected to internet and the app will prompt you to login" when you do that you can disconnect from the internet and fly as you normally would.
