ipad mini wifi or cellular?

What advantage is there to using a cellular ipad as opposed to a wifi only ipad mini?
I never want to connect to the cellular network, just want to know what advantage having the GPS chip will provide?
GPS is only included in cellular ipads.
Will the GPS help with maps? special flight modes?
Anyones experience will help.

You can also use your mobile device's GPS to reset the home point to your current location after takeoff. If you don't need either of those features, then a Wi-Fi only device will be just fine.

I have a Bad Elf GPS unit which I used with my Ipad mini running Tom Tom. It works perefectly with my mini 4 wifi.
